HANDOVER & PAYMENT

What happens after you accept an offer.

Selling an expensive laptop should not leave you guessing about the next step. Here is how to prepare for an agreed handover and what happens before payment.

01. Confirm the equipment and the offer

Check that the offer covers the right make, model, configuration, quantity and accessories. Mention any fault or missing part that was not in the original enquiry. An offer based on your description still needs the equipment to be checked.

Keep the EXE reference allocated when your enquiry is received. Quote it when contacting the team so the conversation can stay with the correct enquiry. Ask about anything unclear before arranging a handover.

02. Agree where and when

Redhill drop-off: arrange an appointment at 91 Brighton Road, Redhill, RH1 6PS before travelling. Confirm what to bring, including the charger and any identification needed for your transaction.

UK post-in: agree the destination, packing, shipping and responsibility for any costs before sending. Do not assume a shipping label or insurance is included.

Collection: ask about eligibility for a higher-value device or a suitable business batch. It is an option to discuss, not something automatically included with every offer.

03. Prepare the device and protect your data

Back up what matters and agree the appropriate account-release and data-removal process before handover. The laptop preparation checklist links to manufacturer guidance and explains when to ask for specialist help.

For business machines, tell EXE about company management, firmware locks and any data-handling requirements. Those details should be agreed before the devices are moved. Do not share account passwords or recovery keys in your enquiry.

04. EXE checks what has arrived

The check compares the equipment with the enquiry: model, specification, quantity, condition, functionality and the accessories supplied. For a batch, a clear model-and-quantity list helps establish what is being assessed.

Inspection is not an automatic acceptance of every device and it does not itself certify data erasure. Do not assume a fixed inspection deadline for every parcel or business batch; confirm any timing you rely on with the team.

05. Any difference is discussed

If the inspected condition or configuration differs from the description, EXE explains the issue and discusses any revised offer. For example, a missing charger, a different GPU or an undisclosed fault can change what is being assessed.

Ask the team to explain the options before agreeing a revised offer. Confirm the arrangements and any costs for returning equipment if no agreement is reached; do not assume free returns. The applicable EXE terms remain the reference for the transaction.

06. Confirm the offer and receive payment

Payment is made by bank transfer after inspection and confirmation of the agreed offer. Confirm the practical timing with EXE for your particular handover or batch rather than rely on a universal “instant payment” promise.

Provide payment details only through the process agreed with the team, not in the public device-description fields. If you need an update, contact [email protected] and quote your EXE reference.

A clear first response

We aim to respond to enquiries within 4 hours during business hours. That is an enquiry-response aim, not a guarantee that inspection or payment will be completed within four hours.

READY FOR THE NEXT STEP

Your checklist.

  • Equipment and accessories confirmed
  • Appointment, post-in or eligible collection agreed
  • Data and account preparation addressed
  • Inspection and any revised offer discussed
  • Payment arrangements confirmed

This guide explains the process described on the EXE website. It does not replace the terms agreed for your transaction.
